Exit Through The Gallery

Throughout my senior year here at Boston Arts Academy there was one thing that I was constantly focusing on: making art work that had  meaning behind it--all of my pieces have a story to it. My first series, the ink on watercolor  is a story about the creation of the universe. The bold colors with the ink seem to pop off the page; each work has a story of its own. My second series, "The Most Affected Animals by Global Warming" symbolizes the destruction of global warming and the affect that it has on our plane. In my third series "Gold Leafing", my main goal was to experiment with gold leaf on different types of media while also having a story behind it. The first piece of the silhouette of Africa symbolizes the struggles and the paths the  African Americans went through  during the slave trade.  The second image of a man screaming is about a man who was caught by the Spaniards when they came to Africa during the slave trade. It symbolizes the pain and fear he felt. The lone wolf is a animal that travels alone who is always stuck in darkness. Despite this, through all of the darkness the wolf seems to see a better future for himself.
